The congregation now known as St David’s Newtown began as a Presbyterian church in 1851.

For 60 years, it worshipped in Ryrie Street, Geelong, in a building known as The Steeple Church. Part of the building can still be seen within the Geelong Performing Arts Centre.

In 1914, the congregation moved to the present building in what then was a new suburb. In 1977,the congregation voted strongly in favour of joining the new Uniting Church in Australia.

St David’s has long been known for its fine preaching and music. Historically St David’s is the parish church for The Geelong College.

Visitors are always given a warm welcome.
